Worst Motsunabe in Fukuoka

Hi! it was a long holiday in Japan, and I have a story about worst restaurant in Fukuoka city that I ever entered.

Since there are long holiday in Japan, my best friends were coming to Fukuoka city to hang out and spent time together. We hang out at Tenjin, the youngster center in Fukuoka city. Totally, in our group, there were 4 people.

We tried to drink in any café that has spaces for 4 of us, but on that day, Fukuoka city was so crowded. We did not get any spaces, till finally we found Seattle best coffee. There are 4 seats that gonna be enough for 4 of us to chill. But unfortunately, some customers suddenly take our seat when we ordered our menu at the counter. In this case, we sit seperately. After that, we went to karaoke to have fun. Because we were so starving after hang out in the day, we decided to book some seats at restaurant around us.

Since every one were busy with their song, I took initiative to look at google map and making order to the nearest restaurant. I found a high rank and authentic Fukuoka’s food on this apps, and I decided to book seat online. I order the schedule one half hours a head. With high hope we gonna get delicious food and hoping my friends who came from other city get a good experience in Fukuoka, we finished our karaoke 15 minutes before our booking seat order in that restaurant.

For you who don’t know about motsunabe, motsunabe is a kind of soup that mix with the innards of cow or other meat. This food is Fukuoka food and really popular among tourist.

Right before 5 minutes our booking time, we arrived at that restaurant. Some people already make a line in front of that restaurant, maybe because they did not book online. So, when I saw the staff, I told them that I already booked online. They said they gonna confirm it. After confirmed our booking, they ask us to wait for a while. But after the time past, no one call my name. So, I decided to go to inside restaurant and asked the staffs. I found my name, and me and my friends got our seat.

In the beginning, we are so happy, because we gonna eat Motsunabe, after be patient to not eat for a while. But… the next problem came, almost one hours we waited our Motsunabe, but the food did not come. Every one on my table getting angry, but in the same time people around us, who just came later after us can get their food faster than us. Even the tofu that they prepared for us right after 10 minutes we seat there, getting watery.

I finally asked the staff, confirm about our food. They just said, please wait for a while. Then I said, we have been waiting for almost one hour (maybe 55 minutes). No apologies for them, but after that, 5 minutes later, our motsunabe finally come (so maybe we need for one hour..just for starting to boil our motsunabe).

Aftr enjoying our motsunabe, we asked for another chanpon and drinks . Traumatize with the waiting time, I keep mumbling a wish to get the food and drinks faster. We also asked for the additional soup to enjoy the Chanpon.

To be honest, the soup test is delicious, no doubt. But delicious is not enough if you need to pay those foods not only by your money but your time and your happiness. But the customer service of this restaurant, made me wrote a review in google map and gave them 1 star rank because of this problem. I never gave 1 star before, but this time this restaurant took my limit. I did not recommend you to visit this restaurant. Because, not only me gave 1 rank star to this restaurant. Some other customers also got similar experience like us.
